EV in Estonia 2021-2022

According to the Estonian Transport Administration, electric vehicles made up as much as 27% of Hyundai’s car sales in Estonia over a five-month period. Statistics show that more car manufacturers are investing in electric vehicles, and consumer interest has also increased. These changes are reflected in market distribution: whereas in previous years only a few brands produced electric vehicles, now all major car manufacturers have established themselves in the EV market.

In Estonia, petrol cars are becoming increasingly unpopular, which cannot be said for electric vehicles. The car sales situation in Q1 of 2021 was as follows:

Electric vehicles – 95 cars sold (111% growth)

Hybrids – 1,452 cars sold (96.7% growth)

Petrol – 2,541 cars sold (22.3% sales decline)

Diesel – 1,420 cars sold (11% growth)
