Usage Fee. This model allows users to pay for charging based on kilowatt-hours (kWh). Charging stations may have a fixed price per kWh or a variable price that changes depending on the time of day or demand level.
Subscription. A subscription-based model lets users pay a fixed fee for a set period—such as a month or a year—for unlimited charging. This model is often used by charging networks operating multiple stations.
Membership. Membership-based systems allow users to join a charging network and access discounted rates or other benefits. Membership fees can be paid monthly or annually.
Prepaid Cards. Charging station operators can sell prepaid cards that users can use to pay for charging sessions. These cards can be loaded with a specific monetary value or a set number of charging sessions.
In-App Payments. Some charging station operators have developed mobile apps that allow users to locate charging stations, pay for charging sessions, and track their charging history. In-app payments can be linked to a credit card or other payment method.
